Latin Leaders is a
Toastmasters International club which meets every Tuesday night from 6:30 to 7:35.
Our club is bilingual. The first Tuesday of every month we hold the
meeting in Spanish and encourage our members to do their presentations/table topics in Spanish, although it
is optional and you may speak in either English or Spanish at any time. We strive to have two speakers every
week and a table topics session to give an opportunity for everyone to practice speaking. Additionally, all
members participate in meeting roles in an organized environment. Our focus is to improve leadership skills
as well as speaking skills in a way that is enjoyable.
The feedback from most people who visit us (and most of them join us) is that our club is very supportive of
all members, encouraging participation and providing positive feedback for the development of our members -
but you should experience that for yourself. You are welcome to join us as a guest any time and let us know
what you think. For more information email us at info@latinleaders.org,
or just walk in on Tuesdays and we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Get the word out! Latin Leaders will be having an Open House on November 13, 2007. Everyone is invited. We’ll have some good food and good speeches. Invite your family and friends to come and have a good time and get an inside look into the meeting of the famous bilingual Toastmaster’s club, Latin Leaders. We’ll be meeting at the Libreria Martinez Book Store on Tuesday November 13. Come early. Our meeting will begin precisely at 6pm. For more information, download the Open House Flyer (English version) or the Spanish Version.
Today’s meeting was held in the building next to our regular meeting location because the book store had a special event taking place. We met in the small area of the main bookstore. We had two speakers today, Nahetzin and myself. Nahetzin gave a speech from the advanced manual which was to be a demonstration talk. She talked about the best way to handle yourself during the Table Topics speeches. I have a presentation from the Successful Club Series titled “Evaluate to Motivate” which talks about the best ways to give evaluations. Afterwards we had a different kind of table topics session. This time we had a debate with four participants, two arguing for capital punishment, and two arguing against capital punishment. The winner today went to Sawarnjit. Congratulations!
Our mission is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning
environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop
communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster
self-confidence and personal growth.
