Latin Leaders is a
Toastmasters International club which meets every Tuesday night from 6:30 to 7:35.
Our club is bilingual. The first Tuesday of every month we hold the
meeting in Spanish and encourage our members to do their presentations/table topics in Spanish, although it
is optional and you may speak in either English or Spanish at any time. We strive to have two speakers every
week and a table topics session to give an opportunity for everyone to practice speaking. Additionally, all
members participate in meeting roles in an organized environment. Our focus is to improve leadership skills
as well as speaking skills in a way that is enjoyable.
The feedback from most people who visit us (and most of them join us) is that our club is very supportive of
all members, encouraging participation and providing positive feedback for the development of our members -
but you should experience that for yourself. You are welcome to join us as a guest any time and let us know
what you think. For more information email us at info@latinleaders.org,
or just walk in on Tuesdays and we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
We had a fantastic meeting today. The turnout was amazing! We voted and approved our new members, Gilda, Freyda, Nelson and Beatrice. Welcome new members! Applications for new memberships have been provided to David, Joe, and Tina and we are looking forward to them joining our club.
Each and every one of us have specific reasons for joining Toastmasters. It may be to improve our speaking skills, our leadership skills, contain our nervousness or attain some type of personal goal, but we have all joined to support each other in our quest for improvement.
We began our meeting today with a well-organized, effectively delivered speech by Sal Zamarripa. Sal’s speech explained how to overcome our fear of public speaking. Nahetzin also continued with an effective, well-organized speech - on inspiring others and continues making strides in improving her speaking skills. Queta handled the Table Topics session on stress related issues and the responses provided by our new and existing members were quite interesting and helpful. Kudos to our Toastmaster, Carlos and President Dan Cossack they did an excellent job in running the meeting! A warm welcome return to Maria - although she will be leaving us again - and returning in two to three weeks with a speech of her experiences in Africa - have a fantastic time Maria and we anticipate your sharing of your travels.
Again, I would like to welcome our new members and thank you to all for your participation in our meeting today! See you next week.
