Latin Leaders is a
Toastmasters International club which meets every Tuesday night from 6:30 to 7:35.
Our club is bilingual. The first Tuesday of every month we hold the
meeting in Spanish and encourage our members to do their presentations/table topics in Spanish, although it
is optional and you may speak in either English or Spanish at any time. We strive to have two speakers every
week and a table topics session to give an opportunity for everyone to practice speaking. Additionally, all
members participate in meeting roles in an organized environment. Our focus is to improve leadership skills
as well as speaking skills in a way that is enjoyable.
The feedback from most people who visit us (and most of them join us) is that our club is very supportive of
all members, encouraging participation and providing positive feedback for the development of our members -
but you should experience that for yourself. You are welcome to join us as a guest any time and let us know
what you think. For more information email us at info@latinleaders.org,
or just walk in on Tuesdays and we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Welcome back everyone after the Valentine’s Day holiday. Today the scheduled toastmaster was unable to attend but I filled in for the role and the meeting went along as smooth as usual. We had two speakers today. Graciela did her second speech, in Spanish, and did it beautifully. Seth did speech number 2 from the Advanced Communication manual - Public speaking. His speech was a simulated radio talk show where he talked about the Dale Carnegie organization. It was very amusing. Nahetzin’s table topics were very fun, so thank you Nahetzin.
Today was the first meeting with our new banner stand and flag stand. I think this improved the overall appearance of the meeting place so everyone can feel more comfortable at the meetings. See you all next week!
Love the new site, I just started poking around and all the new features are great to play with. Thank you Dan! See you guys tonight!!
hey, does this work. chat chat chat.
Dan, you have done an excellent job here. Felicidades!!!
I was impressed by both speeches. Dan’s website is incredible! It is exciting to be a part of a TM group and I enjoy the fact that our group is so caring, sympathetic, and supportive! Latin Leaders not only inculcates us with speaking skills but also with a sense of understanding others and their feelings.
Greetings Fellow Toastmasters:The theme of today’s meeting was “Physical Well-Being” and the Word of the Day was “Enamored”. For the most part, the meeting was run in Espaņol.
The speakers were David Lopez and Dan Cossack. David spoke about changing your lifestyle by committing to a new lifestyle and forgetting about your old life.
Dan spoke about the new features of the Latin Leaders Website and showed us the new features. If you access this website today, you will see the new features. He also provided new user IDs/passwords to everyone. Dan, thank you again for all your hard work with creating this wonderful web page.
Carlos Ortiz was the Table Topics Master and was really prepared for this part of the meeting. Way to go Carlos!
We also had a new member complete a TM application!
Reminder, next week’s meeting is cancelled due to Valentines’ Day. I hope you have a wonderful Valentines Day next week with that special person and, I will leave you with the following thought:
“Life is like a roller coaster ride. It has many peaks and valleys. Do not be afraid to smile, laugh, cry, hold hands, hug, and kiss during every twist and turn because the ride is so much more exciting when you have someone to share it with”
Salvador Zamarripa, Secretary
